FLEXINET services offer the user decision support by evaluating the potential impact of changes to product/service on a global production network. Changes may include strategic development, or response to external factors.

The Strategic Business Model Evaluator analyses proposed changes in the context of the existing network inter-relationships in a simulation based "what-if" analysis, whilst the Production Network Configurator supports decision-making leading to adaptation of the global production network to change. Together these depend on knowledge of the existing network inter-relationships and the proposed changes.

This knowledge is maintained in FLEXINET Reference Ontologies, so that understanding of network inter-relationships is assured. In turn the Compliance Evaluator ensures that new network elements remain consistent in terms of information requirements and business constraints.
